![]() Our site is the ideal destination for groups because the "Knappenwelt" is easily accessible for buses. Passengers are dropped off right in front of the entrance while the coaches can be parked at our big parking lot nearby (10 min walk). Our guides will lead you through the mining history of our area for about one hour. We are always on the hand to help you organizing a full-day program or more. Being one of the most beautiful and picturesque valleys of the Tyrol, the Gurgltal offers a wide range of tracks and footpaths that criss-cross the whole area of forests, gorges, marsh areas an open fields. Guided tours require two or three hours of your time but of course everyone may ramble through the valley on one's own, too. For those who want a different kind of entertainment a ride on the famous Alpine Coaster, a visit to our in- and outdoor climbing facilities or an arts-workshop might be the right thing. Apart from the "Knappenwelt" some more history-facts can be traced at the castle of "Starkenberg", an originally medieval castle, now a fine local brewery with a special exhibition called "Biermythos" - worth a visit, too! If required, we take care for your culinary needs, too. Either we make a reservation at one of our local restaurants or you can book a special catering for your group directly at our premises. Group Special: With the "combination card" you can visit both historical sites, the "Knappenwelt" and "Starkenberg" for a special price - both guided, of course. This program called "The 2 of Tarrenz" wants to raise awareness for the fascinating legacy of past times. You will be captivated by the presence of living history!
